The Material

Titanium.

Why Titanium

A material that
earns its place.

We could have used gold or stainless steel — both are common in jewellery for good reason. Here's how titanium compares on the things that matter most for something you'll wear every day.

Grade 2 — Commercially Pure Titanium

What does
"grade" mean?

Titanium comes in different grades depending on its composition. Some grades are alloyed with other metals to maximise strength for things like aircraft parts — these are harder, but also harder to work with and less consistent in colour and finish.

Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium — at least 99% titanium, with no major alloying elements. It's the grade most commonly used in jewellery and medical implants, valued for its strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and consistent, even finish.

Every piece we make is Grade 2 titanium — the same grade trusted for products that sit against skin for years at a time.

In Practice

What this means
for you.

Beyond the technical specifications, here's what Grade 2 titanium actually feels like to wear.

Worn without thinking

Hypoallergenic and lightweight enough to forget you're wearing it — suitable for sensitive skin, and for all-day, every-day wear.

Holds its shape

Resistant to bending and denting under everyday use — a piece you can wear through your normal routine without babying it.

Doesn't tarnish

Highly resistant to corrosion — no tarnishing, no discolouration from sweat, water, or everyday exposure.

Built for the long term

The same material qualities that make titanium reliable for medical and aerospace use are exactly what make it reliable on your hand, year after year.

Why It Matters

Material chosen
to outlast trends.

We didn't choose titanium because it's fashionable — we chose it because it's the closest thing to "forever" that jewellery can be. A piece that still looks and feels right in ten years, not just on the day you receive it.

That's the whole point of Velorium: design that's worth the material, and material that's worth the design.
