Living with

Titanium needs very little looking after — that's part of why we chose it. Here's what's worth knowing to keep your piece looking its best, day to day and over the years.
Daily wear
Titanium is hypoallergenic and highly resistant to corrosion, so there's no need to take your piece off for showering, swimming, or everyday activity. It's designed to be worn — not set aside for special occasions.
That said, if you're doing heavy manual work, lifting weights with a bare grip, or anything with repeated hard impact, it's worth taking rings off — not because titanium will fail, but to protect whatever it might knock against.
Cleaning
A simple routine every few weeks keeps your piece looking its best:
- 1. Fill a small bowl with warm water and a few drops of mild, unscented soap.
- 2. Let your piece sit in the water for a minute or two to loosen any residue.
- 3. Gently wipe with a soft cloth — for detailed areas, a soft-bristled toothbrush works well.
- 4. Rinse under clean water and dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- 5. Avoid soaking for long periods, and steer clear of abrasive sponges, polishing cloths designed for other metals, or anything gritty.
Storage
When you're not wearing your piece, store it separately from other jewellery — ideally in a soft pouch or a lined compartment of its own.
While titanium is extremely hard to scratch itself, it can scratch softer metals like gold or silver, and harder materials like diamonds can leave marks on titanium in turn. Keeping pieces apart protects everything in your collection, not just this one.

A finish that lives with you
Matte and brushed finishes may soften slightly with regular wear — small marks and a gentle change in texture are part of how titanium ages, not a sign that something's wrong.
Polished finishes can pick up fine surface scratches over time too. Many people come to prefer how a piece looks after a year of wear — it starts to feel like it's truly yours.
What to avoid
Titanium itself won't tarnish or corrode, but a few things are worth keeping in mind:
Avoid prolonged contact with chlorine (pools, hot tubs), harsh household cleaners, and solvents — these can affect surface finishes and any plating or coatings over time, even if the titanium underneath is unaffected.
Apply perfume, lotion, and hairspray before putting your piece on, rather than after — this helps keep finishes looking their best for longer.
If a piece is misshapen
Titanium is very strong, but a hard enough impact can still bend or dent a piece — usually from something like a heavy fall or a piece getting caught in machinery.
If this happens, stop wearing the piece and get in touch with us. Don't try to bend it back yourself — titanium doesn't flex like softer metals, and forcing it can cause a fracture rather than fixing the shape.

On resizing
Unlike gold, titanium can't be stretched or compressed to adjust the size of a finished ring — it's simply too hard. This means getting your size right before your piece is made is especially important.

Travelling with your piece
Titanium is airport-security friendly — it won't set off most metal detectors the way some other metals can, though this can vary by airport and the size of the piece.
When travelling, keep your piece in its pouch inside your carry-on rather than checked luggage, and avoid leaving it in places with extreme temperature changes, like a car dashboard in direct sun.
